Poor Indian Police on election duty

This picture of policemen reportedly on election duty “resting” is being passed around on social media. The accompanying messages are roundly critical of the Election Commission for allegedly playing a hand in this inhuman act.
Note that the context, location, time and other antecedents of this picture are either unverified or unknown. But whatever the context, you can’t envy these men for what they are going through.

Not only Policemen  affected:

Any person, whether civilian or police, who performs election duty, which is always out of fear, since it is such a torturous one for three days, starting from reaching 8 am. in the morning and there running from one place to another for almost 12 hours without food and hot summer Sun, going to the booth packed like cattle in goods carrying trucks, alighting at the mid night at a school with no light and no water. No food for the whole day and sleeping in side a dark school room. Next day, collecting food material moving from place to place in a remote area. No sympathy shown to sick persons, since it is to be medically proved. So no relief, since you can not approach Collector and he has no time to listen and not going attracts severe punishment such as jail and suspension. So you go for election duty or perish. Choice is yours. So persons who have not attended can not understand.
